My archives might be a little outdated especially the older blogs. My links above are all new and current.

I have only positive things to say about Permission to Mother, an autobiographical account of a thoughtful mother and clinician who courageously writes from her heart, soul, brain, and personal experience; who is open to change in her views and opinions and is not guided by the safety of rules of any group or the status quo; she is guided by love and openness to the experiences life brings her and her family. Her process benefits her and those around her and those who read her words. And to add to that, the writing style and story telling ability here make it a very enjoyable read speckled with both the humor and seriousness of life. ~Laura Keegan RN FNP, author of Breastfeeding with Comfort and Joy

Horse Day

Lauren invited us to ride her pony today. The boys really liked being up there.
I rode, too. They got to groom the pony and round him up, but they liked riding better.
Scott helped saddle him up and put on the bridle. We all appreciate Lauren's
hospitality and generosity.

I had a great time with you and the boys! You look good up there in the saddle- nice and relaxed. I also think Scott had a good time helping out. I really enjoyed working with him.

This is the first time I've seen Ruby in the Ergo at that angle since December. Holy Cow!!! I feel like I'm carrying a baby on my back, but she looks like a KID up there! How did that happen? Where did my little baby go???

You know I have never been on a horse in all my years!

Did you and Scott dress alike on purpose?

Looks like a fun time.

I just did a post on plants bolting. I appreciate the question; it is always nice for some guidance on topics :)

Was this your first time on a horse Denise? I used to ride in my tweens and I can't wait till we get out to Lauren's to do what you guys did! It is so much fun!!! So what did the boys think? Are they up for the farm life now?? ;)

Scott and I did not dress alike on purpose. Scott decided he'd like to where polo shirts now and we had a few in the closet that William never wore much. I just grabbed any old shirt.

I've been on a horse a few times when I was about 10-11. I went to a Dude Ranch camp with Girl Scouts and visited someone with horses. Both times were were horses not pony-horses. I felt very far from the ground.

Next time, instead of getting caught up in my own excitment, I'd like to see Lauren skillfully riding! I'd enjoy that, too.

I'm sure we can arrange something. :) Although it would be just my luck to get thrown. Then I can watch you skillfully check for broken bones. ;)

It's the first time I've seen MYSELF at that angle! If It wasn't a babywearing photo, I may not have posted. My love for babywearing diluted my focus on myself.
